February 25, 2020RFMF FAREWELL TO NZ PRIME MINISTER
February 27, 2020The Commander Republic of Fiji Military Forces Rear-Admiral (RADM) Viliame Naupoto officiated the launch of the “Veiliutaki Framework” at the Pearl Resort on the 24th of February 2020, during a leadership seminar co-hosted by the RFMF and New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF).
The Veiliutaki Framework which was drafted by staff members of the RFMF Officers Training Center and NZDF Institute for leader development provides a formal reference for all personnel and leaders at all levels in the RFMF to refer to when facing leadership challenges.
Additionally, the framework at the same time will also enable RFMF personnel to design solutions to meet the Commander’s Intent, the Values of the institution and most importantly, the Constitutional role of the RFMF.
While delivering his speech, RADM Naupoto stated that leadership plays a key role in any defence force and with good leaders in place it would surely drive the institution forward into the future.
The four days leadership seminar will appraise RFMF senior leadership with the Veiliutaki Framework and familiarize themselves with new leadership training which would be adopted by the RFMF. The seminar will also involve sharing leadership experiences between the NZDF and RFMF personnel and will bring about more awareness in the leadership sphere.
Present during the seminar was the Chief Of Staff RFMF Captain (Navy) Fox, Brigadier-General Kalouniwai, Acting Commander Fiji Navy, HQ RFMF Directors and representatives from the Land Force Command.
