November 7, 2019CRFMF: PREPARE, OBEDIENCE AND GIVE THANKS
November 11, 2019Approximately seventy-two (72) newly enlisted Territorial Force Brigade (TF) who had graduated from the Force Training Group (FTG) in the year 2017 and 2018 are at their final stages of training up in the hills of Delainakobalevu. The corp training which started on the 18th of October 2019 will be scheduled to end on the 8th of November 2019.
TF Staff Officer Training, Lieutenant (Lt) Peni Rere who was in charge of the eleven days field exercise stated that the 72 TF personnel have accomplished their basic recruit and were yet to complete the TF corp training to qualify into the TF cadre.
“The training was aimed to upgrade their Basic Infantry Skills, and at the same time raise the capabilities of a personnel to an acceptable level where each individual will be ready to proceed for further training or participate at any military institution or deployment to any required operation theatre,” Lt Rere said.
“These Corp trainees had also took part in a mini force skills competition where they were able to apply and put into practice what they have learnt during the first week of theory classes at the TF brigade HQ in Nasinu.” he concluded.
In addition to this, the trainees were then taken on the final phase of their training to the rugged hills of Delainakobalevu where they endured vigorous training for 11 days before the withdrawal phase which included a route march from Sawani to the TF headquarters.
Private Seruwaia Nakiti a female TF soldier who is a mother of two said that the training came as a challenge for her because it was entirely different from the Basic Recruit Course. She stated that there were often times in the training where she felt like giving up together with her other female comrades but they encouraged each other to keep working hard to complete the training.
The corp training concluded on the 8th of November 2019 with a celebration at the TF HQ in Nasinu.
