March 9, 2020The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) accorded a ceremonial fifty men Guard of Honor this) morning (Thursday 27th February 2020) to farewell New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern at the Nausori Airport. Upon her arrival at the airport, Honourable Ardern was escorted by the Deputy Commander RFMF to review the guards before bidding farewell to the Fijian delegation present at the airport.
Present during the farewell ceremony was the Prime Minister of Fiji Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama, the NZ Ambassador to Fiji H.E Jonathan Curr, Minister of Defence and National Security Hon Inia Seruiratu, Minister of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Hon. Mereseini Vuniwaqa, and the Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho.
The Honourable NZ PM before her departure to Sydney will visit the Lautoka Jame Mosque to commemorate the lives of the three Fijian nationals who had lost their lives during the Christchurch shooting and will also open the new Nadi Branch Fiji Women’s Crisis Center in the Western Division.
