October 1, 2019The New Zealand Defence Force Chief Intelligence Officer Brigadier General Hugh McAslan paid a courtesy call to the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Headquarters at Berkley Crescent in Suva on Thursday 26th September, 2019.
Brigadier General McAslan was received by RFMF Chief of Staff Captain (Navy) John Fox and was later accorded a Quarter Guard by the Third Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment.
Brigadier General McAslan graduated in December 1989 from the Officer Cadet School into the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment (RNZIR) as a Second Lieutenant. He holds a Master’s of Military Art and Science (Strategy) from the US Command and General Staff College, and a Master’s of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Decoration for his service in Afghanistan in the 2012 Queen’s Birthday Honours List. He was also awarded a Chief of Army’s Commendation on April 2008 for his role as Deputy Director Land Capability.
Brigadier General McAslan’s visit provided an opportunity for the two forces to discuss issues regarding Training.
