December 19, 2022After a year of service in the Solomon Islands, Task Force Cori Mada One has been handing over all of the mission’s duties to Task Force Cori Mada Two after they arrive in the Solomon Islands during the weekend.
The handover also saw the conduct of a welcoming church service where the incoming troops were informed of the importance of the mission and how crucial it was to the RFMF.
Warrant-Officer Class Two Mikaele Koroi said that it was the responsibility of all troops present in the Solomon Islands to ensure that the mission mandate is achieved and, at the same time ensure that the people are satisfied with the services they provide.
In addition to this, Lieutenant Colonel Asaeli Toanikeve, the Senior National Officer and Contingent Commander, also informed the incoming troops that nothing would change and that the main focus was to keep guaranteeing peace and stability in the country. LTCOL Toanikeveโs term is being extended in the Solomon Islands.
The new troops arrived at the Honiara airport on Saturday, before presenting their i-sevusevu to Mr. Atueta Balekana who heads Fiji’s consulate in the Solomon Islands.
