A Family Church Service hosted by Headquarters Republic of Fiji Military Forces (HQ RFMF) was held at the Vodafone Arena on morning of Sunday 15th January, 2017. The monthly service which was the first for the year was attended by the Commander RFMF, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto, Senior Officers, Officers, men and women along with their families.
The Commander RFMF welcomed members of the Force from their break and thanked those that held the fort during the Christmas vacation. In his message of well wish for the year, he said that 2017 will be a ‘year of goodness’.
Rear Admiral Naupoto told parents that their children are full of energy and creativity. All is needed is parents’ wisdom gained over the years to correctly steer their children’s lives to be good and productive individuals.
He challenged leadership to look for ‘goodness’ in those under their command as a starting baseline. “That person was created in the image of God who is nothing but good,” Rear Admiral Naupoto said.
In support of the Commander’s message, Force Padre, Reverend (Major) Ilaitia Tuwere told the members of the Force to conquer evil with goodness. He based his sermon on 1Peter 2:18-25 which was a lesson of hope in the midst of affliction, persecution and suffering. Rev(Maj) Tuwere said that the lesson also reminds us of our responsibilities to those in authority.
