August 4, 2016The Republic of Fiji Navy celebrated its annual ‘Navy Day’ celebrations as a commemoration of its inception in 1975 on Friday 29 July 2016 at the Stanley Brown Naval Base in Walu Bay.
The celebrations was opened with a brief devotion by the Force Padre and the naval recruits of 01/75, whom were the guests, were accorded a traditional ceremony of welcome with a ‘I Sevusevu’.
The floor was then opened to the naval veterans as they shared of their experiences and reminisced on the days of the past and their recollection of how the naval establishment has transformed from those early days of inception till this current day.
Music and entertainment was provided by the RFMF Band and lunch was served to guests present as well as kava, beer and other drinks and assorted refreshments.
