Commander Republic of Fiji Military Forces Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto urged troops to earnestly hold steadfast to the call of duty, while addressing them at the fourth quarter Commanders parade and Force Christmas Break up Service at Delainabua on Thursday 15 December 2016.
“We should not be deterred by the negative sentiments echoed in the media as I believe some of us have come to hear of a recent report by Amnesty International and others in social media,” Rear Admiral Naupoto said.
Commander RFMF reminded the troops to be committed to the duties and responsibilities they have been called upon and not to be easily swayed by negative utterances.
“We should focus on the peace and prosperity of our nation as it is the constitutional role of the Republic of Fiji military Forces to uphold and safeguard the security and safety of all peoples of Fiji,” Rear Admiral Naupoto reiterated.
He emphasized that only through steadfast commitment to our institutional role can we see national stability and through this we would be able to attain growth.
“We are now going through the festive season and let me remind us all that this is also the cyclone season, spend more time with our family and loved ones as we might be also be called on standby if the need arose if the weather situation escalated into a cyclone,” Rear Admiral Naupoto said.
Rear Admiral Naupoto thanked all the troops for their commitment and dedication to duty throughout 2016 and wished them a merry Christmas and happy New Year!
