October 15, 2016Guest speaker, Ms Latileta Qoro told RFMF Officers attending the Grade III course that age and inexperience is not a barrier to a successful leader.
The Chief Executive Officer of South Pacific Stock Exchange shared her experience during her session at the RFMF Officer Grade 3 Course at the Officer’s Training School at Vatuwaqa located outside Suva on Wednesday 12 October 2016. She stated that she faced enormous challenges when undertaking her responsibilities as CEO, however she did not allow her age and inexperience to overcome her interest to succeed.
She asserted that her past experience has proved that young age and inexperience is not an obstacle in leadership.. “One should not look down on himself for being young or the fact of being inexperienced if given the opportunity to lead,” she said. She added that having a role model and a reliable advisor was an important aspect to her success. The 32 year old CEO admitted that undertaking leadership role was not an easy task as it requires hardwork and sacrifice but her reliance on divine support was a major contributing factor to achieving extraordinary results for the institution.
The guest speaker was treated to a morning tea after the morning session at the RFMF Officers Training School at Vatuwaqa outside Suva.
The eleven weeks course is a leadership orientation course preparing our 19 officers for command and joint operations role in their military careers is expected to end by Friday 16 December 2016.
