April 12, 2022On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, Major General (Maj-Gen) Scott Winter, the Commander of 1st Division/Deployable Joint Force Headquarters based in Brisbane, Australia, paid a visit to members of the Multinational Police Support Group (MPSG) in Honiara. The MPSG consists of the #ADF, #NZDF and #RFMF contingents.
Prior to Maj-Gen Winterโs visit to the MPSG, he paid a courtesy call to Mr Mostyn Mangau, the Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), at the police headquarters in Rove.
At the MPSGโs ADF base, Maj-Gen Winter told the ADF, NZDF and RFMF contingents that he was proud of their work in restoring peace and stability in the country. Furthermore, Maj-Gen Winter urged the three contingents to work together to provide support for the people of the Solomon Islands.
Later, the Major General expressed his sincere gratitude to the RFMF for the support they had provided during the bushfires and floods in Australia as well as after the disaster of the volcanic eruption in Tonga. #OpFloodAssist #OpTongaAssist
In conclusion, Maj-Gen Winter said how proud he was of the RFMF contingent for the work the troops had done in Honiara in the past months. “You have done great work in Honiara.”
