As the country approaches the cyclone season, both the Operational and Tactical levels
of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces are taking all necessary steps in its preparation to assist the government respond to any natural disasters that may come our way.

On Monday 25th October, the Commander Land Forces, Colonel Onisivoro Covunisaqa and his team began an Operational Readiness Check (ORC) for all Land Force Command Units starting from the Force Training Group in Nasinu.
Today (Tuesday 26th ) the team visited the Engineers Unit in Nabuni to inspect the capability and the ability of the Unit to mobilize and dispatch teams to affected areas should the need arise. The inspecting team hopes to gauge the efficiency of each units coordination and their preparedness activities.
The Fiji Meteorological Center in Nadi estimates that a number of low depressions are likely to affect our group of islands during the cyclone season which runs from November through April.
