Fiji Navy and FRCS Signs MOU

January 8, 2020The Republic of Fiji Military Forces Naval Division today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with theย Permanent Secretary of Forest Mr Pene Baleinabuli at the Fiji Navy Headquarters in Suva.
Chief of Navy Captain (Navy) Humphrey Tawake stated that because the Fiji Navy is also gazetted under the Fisheries Act (Cap 158) and Marine Spaces Act, the MOU would enhance capacity building, information sharing and collaboration between the two parties technically and also at an operational level.
In addition to this, Capt (Navy) Tawake also mentioned that the MOU will also enable the Fiji Navy to work with the Ministry at a greater level in terms of Ocean governance and the sustainable management of species and ecosystem for the future generation.
