October 24, 2019As the Joint Exercise between the cadets from the RFMF and the New Zealand Defenses Force came to an end, the Minister of Defence and National Security, Honourable Inia SERUIRATU, acknowledged the continuous support of the people of Nausori Highlands in allowing the RFMF to use their Land for various forms of field exercises of the last years. These sentiments were echoed in his address to Cadets and Directing Staff of both forces on Monday 21st October, 2019 at Nausori Highland, Nadi.
“We all know that the RFMF has no places to call their own training grounds but we a very appreciative to the people of Nausori Highland for letting the RFMF do their training exercise up here for couple of years now and for allowing the NZDF train they future leaders at our front door.” He also stated “you a not only helping both institution (RFMF and NZDF) but also the government of Fiji in keeping a strong link with their New Zealand counterparts.”
The Honourable Minister told the NZDF Cadet that they are the future of New Zealand Army, “as career officers you will not only be working in New Zealand but also around the world and within the region.” He added that “we have the responsibility to look after each other in the Pacific Region.”
The Honourable Minister for Defence and National Security Mr. Inia Batikoto Seruiratu wish the newly appointed cadets a bright future, “always remember The New Zealand Army Command School motto, Serve Proudly – Lead Wisely.”
