August 1, 2019The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Land Force Inter Unit Force Skills Competition culminated today Thursday 1st August 2019 at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks (QEB) in Nabua.
The Competition was held for two days as day one competition included dealing with Theory concept, General Knowledge, Navigation, First Aid , Weapons handling dealing with stripping and assembling of weapons and day two today included the Obstacle, Run and shoot.
Commander RFMF Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto congratulated all the participants for representing there units in the Force Skills Competition.
“If there is one competition that defines who we are, it’s this competition that we are doing. If we look at uniforms, almost all other organisation wear uniform. But it is this competition that defines military people. That’s our core skill sets which has been tested in this competition.” RADM Naupoto.
He further stated that the competition was to select a team that would represent the RFMF in a competition in Australia. In true infantry spirit, the RFMF will go in there not just to participate but to win.
In his concluding remarks, RADM Naupoto congratulated the winners saying that this competition is just a start of many competition to come.
The team scoring the highest mark from the four theory test conducted at FTG for the General Knowledge was Engineer 1, for the weapons test was FTG 1, the Navigation Test was LSU, and the First Aid test was FTG 1. The Best female Trophy was given to Private Waqa Vuka of FTG and the Best Male Trophy was given to Private Gata Vata. The Obstacle and Run Trophy was given to the 3FIR Team and the Shooting competition trophy was given to 3FIR 2 Team. The best overall award was given to the FTG Team 1.
