June 18, 2019The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Territorial Force (TF) Brigade Commander Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Apakuki Kurusiga was the Chief Guest during the Sila Secondary School Cadet passing out parade on Friday 14 June 2019.
“Today you have taken the first step towards achieving your school goal which is ‘Visibility through Excellence’ because when you are able to successfully compete any task, you show two characteristic needed to archive great things in life, they are Commitment and Dedication,” Brig Gen Kurusiga said.
“Cadet training has so much potential and positively impact a person’s life. In life you must have some form of self-control and self- restraint, and if you think you can live without discipline, I can tell you now that you are in for a life of disarray and chaos which will open up doors to the world of trouble,” Brig Gen Kurusiga added.
Brig Gen Kurusiga finished his address in a fatherly advice. “Enjoy your childhood. The problem is that some of you are wanting to jump into becoming an adult. Wait for time! You will get tired of all the responsibilities that come being an adult. Don’t make your future to be of regrets. The key is on your hands right now and it goes back to way you use your time and the company you choose to have. Surround yourself with positive people and you will be able to archive positive results,” he concluded.
A total of four hundred fifty two students were members of the cadet passing out parade.

- Baton of Honour Award – Marika Pailate Mule of Kaunitoni House.
