PEACEKEEPERS FAREWELL DIRECTOR GENERAL
August 13, 2017A Historical Fiji Day
October 10, 2017“Identify your role, identify your responsibility and know how you wish to carry on the legacy of a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.”
These were the words uttered by the Commissioner Western Lieutenant-Colonel (Lt-Col) Manasa Tagicakibau who officiated the passing out parade of the 1/17 SNCO’s course at the Force Training Group in Nasinu on the 6th of October 2017.
Speaking to the seventy-eight (78) graduates Lt-Col Tagicakibau reminded them the roles and responsibility that needs to be considered and conceived as a SNCO of the RFMF.
“The RFMF needs steadfast SNCOs and potential Warrant Officers who can morally and ethically uphold the standards and ethos of the institution.”
“Your duty as custodians for customs and traditions and standards for the RFMF must always remain intact, unwavering and outright clear. It must not be compromised nor influenced by personal agenda,” Lt-Col Tagicakibau said.
Lt-Col Tagicakibau also emphasized on the importance of maintaining what has been learnt and consistently executing it at their respective units.
“As you complete this training phase, it is equally important that you carry on influencing positive changes in your units with regards to what you have learnt. Identify the training needs and plan an appropriate course of action. Decide what you want to do with what you have extracted from this course and apply it accordingly,” Lt-Col Tagicakibau concluded.
The 78 participants of the SNCO course underwent a vigorous eight weeks training under the guidance of experienced Officers and Instructors of the Force Training Group.
