Through the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Airlift assistance, the Third Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment (3FIR) deployed a five-men team from the Bravo Company to Vanua Levu. This special airlift was a success, through careful coordination between ADF Air Force specialists and the RFMF liaison personnel on Thursday, 12 June 2025.
A significant opportunity that recognized the interoperability with our defence partners, one that carries trust, mutual understanding and the pursuit of operational excellence. This is a successful indication of the positive military to military engagements, between the RFMF and ADF.
The team utilised this trip to conduct reconnaissance ahead of the Bravo Company Urban Operation Exercise, scheduled for September. The recce team will visit key Government stakeholders in Savusavu and establish ties in key areas, prior to exercise deployment, which will see the utilisation of traditionally owned land and Government facilities, by 3FIR personnel.
This is a successful reflection of the Commander RFMF’s strategic priorities and Commander Land Force intent of maximising regional co-operation with our Defence partners, to enhance mission readiness and operational posture of 3FIR.
