November 19, 2024he Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) has officially launched its United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) 26 Bravo Pre-Deployment Training, which began on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Black Rock Peacekeeping School in Nadi.
The opening ceremony featured Major (Maj) Mikaele Wara, Acting Director of Force Development, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Maj Wara emphasized the critical importance of discipline among the 26 Bravo troops, referencing past incidents where RFMF members faced repatriation due to poor decision-making.
Maj Wara emphasized the historical significance of this deployment. โThis is a unique opportunity for you to create a lasting legacy,โ he stated. โThe responsibility does not rest solely on the Commanding Officer, the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), or the Company Sergeant Majors (CSMs); it is a collective responsibility for all of us.โ
In closing, Maj Wara extended his best wishes to the 26 Bravo troops as they embark on their training journey, encouraging them to uphold the values and standards of the RFMF throughout their deployment.
