September 20, 2021A team of RFMF personnel was deployed to Kadavu earlier this morning (Friday 27th August 2021) alongside government officials on board the ππ ππ¦πͺπ·πΆπ¦π΅πͺ. The team will be deployed for a period of one month to assist the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in attending to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases on the island.
The team led by Warrant Officer Class-Two Lusio Vakabuto comprises soldiers from the Third Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment (3FIR) and medics from the Land Force Command (LFC) Battalion.
Prior to the deployment, Commanding Officer 3FIR, Lieutenant-Colonel (LT-COL) Penioni Naliva briefly addressed the soldiers at Ratu Sukuna Memorial School (RSMS) and reminded them of their responsibilities and the importance of always maintaining the highest standard.
Ministry of Healthβs Chief Surgeon, Doctor Josese Turagava will be leading the 56-member government team.
