The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Reconciliation and Restoration Program was held at Sukanaivalu VC Barracks in Labasa from Friday 23, August to Saturday 24, August, 2024.
The program commenced with a church service, followed by “talanoa” sessions with the Commander RFMF, Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, former RFMF personnel, and families of the victims.
On the following day, RFMF presented the โ€˜matanigasauโ€™ to the vanua of Macuata. This gesture is intended to facilitate reconciliation, rebuild trust, and promote unity between RFMF members and the vanua of Macuata. The initiative aims to address and transcend individual differences, fostering a cohesive RFMF family.
The program was a significant step toward healing and strengthening unity within the RFMF and the wider community, confirming a commitment to common growth and national progress.
