The Deputy Foreign Minister of Israel, Honourable Ms. Sharren Haskel, today met with Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) personnel at Albert Park, Suva, acknowledging their contribution to rugby development in Israel and their role in strengthening ties between the two nations.
In her remarks, Hon. Ms. Haskel conveyed her appreciation to the Commander of the RFMF and Warrant Officer Class Two Napolioni Naulia, who recently served as the Head Coach of the Israel Sevens Team, for their outstanding contribution to the growth of rugby in Israel.
Hon Ms. Haskel noted that rugby serves as a bridge between people, uniting communities through shared passion and teamwork. She expressed her pride in seeing Fijian players representing Israeli teams, stating that their participation embodies the spirit of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
The Deputy Foreign Minister further emphasised that the partnership between Fiji and Israel extends beyond sports, reflecting shared values of discipline, resilience, and unityโ€”principles deeply rooted in both countries.
She added that rugby holds a special place in Fijian identity and continues to serve as a platform for cultural exchange and mutual understanding, strengthening the bonds of friendship and bilateral relations between Fiji and Israel.
