The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Director of Finance, Logistics, and Acquisition (DFLA), Captain (Navy) Lepani Vaniqi, today formally accepted a set of wheel assemblies for the Protected Mobility Vehicles (PMVs) from the Australian Defence Forces Advisor to Fiji, Colonel Henry Stimson, at the Joint Logistics Command Warehouse.
This timely donation reflects the Australian Defence Forceโ€™s (ADF) ongoing commitment to supporting the modernisation and sustainment of the RFMFโ€™s military capabilities.
The provision of these essential components demonstrates Australiaโ€™s dedication to ensuring the long-term serviceability of the RFMFโ€™s protected vehicle fleet. This commitment is further strengthened through continued training initiatives and the implementation of the Military Logistics Support Arrangement (MLSA) between the two forces.
The delivery also meets a pledge made by the Chief of the Australian Defence Force, Admiral David Johnston, during last yearโ€™s handover of Bushmaster vehicles, where he reaffirmed the ADFโ€™s support for local maintenance efforts through a consistent supply of spare parts and technical collaboration.
The Bushmaster remains a critical asset for the RFMF. The vehicles are currently deployed in peacekeeping missions across the Middle East and are extensively used for training within Fiji.
This handover highlights the strong and enduring defence partnership between Fiji and Australia, built on mutual respect, regional cooperation, and shared values.
