March 21, 2023Fijiโs Honourable Minister of Fisheries Mr Kalaveti Ravu visited Solomon Islands on 12th March, 2023, to attend the launch of Regional Training on Seafood Standards for International Export Market at the Pacific Island Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) in Honiara. The aim of the regional training was to improve global market access for the Pacific fisheries industry and enhancing the socio economic benefits that support the livelihoods of Pacific islanders.
Hon Ravu along with FFA Director General Dr Manu Tupou-Roosen with the Ministers entourage was hosted by members of Taskforce Cori Mada (TFCM2). The Hon Minister got to visit one of the many communities where TFCM2 engages with; Burns Creek (BC) being one of the many that he visited before his return back home.
Director Chairman Interim Committee of BC Pastor Johnny, Community Leaders and members of BC Community greeted the Hon Minister as he visited the Medical Care Centre that was built by members of TFCM along with the youths of BC. Nothing but high salutations were shared by community leaders as they shared what has changed BC Community from being one of the red zone places in Honiara to a green zone area to date.
TFCM2 and members of the Fijian Community in the Hapi Isles accorded a Traditional Ceremony (๐ด๐ฆ๐ท๐ถ๐ด๐ฆ๐ท๐ถ) with a late lunch to farewell the Honorable minister.
