The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Joint Task Force Command (JTFC) commenced a seven-week Pre-Deployment Training (PDT) on Monday 25 August, 2025 for the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) Batt 44 draft, ahead of their year-long deployment to the Sinai Peninsula.
During the opening address, JTFC Chief of Staff, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Asaeli Toanikeve, underscored the importance of professionalism and discipline for the troops as they prepare for peacekeeping duties in the mission area.
Lt Col Toanikeve reminded members of MFO Batt 44 that they serve as ambassadors of both the RFMF and Fiji. He emphasised that mission success will rely heavily on teamwork, mutual cooperation, and support within the ranks.
The PDT will equip the troops with the skills and readiness required to ensure the effective execution of peacekeeping operations in the Sinai.
