July 25, 2024The Republic of Fiji Military Force Chief of Staff (CoS), Brigadier-General (Brig-Gen) Sapenafa Motufaga, today, 24 July 2024, opened the Finance and Procurement Training Workshop at the Ministry of Finance in Ro Lalabalavu House, Suva.
During his opeining remarks, Brig-Gen Motufaga welcomed the senior leaders from various RFMF units to the Finance and Procurement Training Workshop and mentioned the importance of implementing strict monitoring and evaluation processes to ensure effective and efficient budget utilization.
“We need to be more committed to planning, following regulations, and utilizing our budget. If not, we will continue to face the same challenges we have been facing over the past few years,” Brig-Gen Motufaga said.
“As the head of a cost center, you are accountable to both the commander of the RFMF and the government for the proper utilization of the allocated budget in accordance with regulations. It is crucial for you to dedicate time to gaining knowledge and awareness of these regulations. Without a thorough understanding of the processes and regulations, it is impossible to effectively utilize the budget.”
Brig-Gen Motufaga encouraged all senior leaders to seek knowledge and awareness during the workshop about the new financial regulations and the challenges that the RFMF has been facing.
