𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗥𝗙𝗠𝗙’𝗦 𝗡𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗟 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗡—𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗧. 𝗥𝗘𝗩. 𝗟𝗔𝗞𝗢𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗩𝗨𝗟𝗜

The 17th of January, 2025, is a significant date marked for the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Naval Division’s history as they welcomed their First Chaplain, Captain Reverend Savu Lakoenavuli, the former 2FIR Chaplain who served in the Sinai from 2023 to 2024.

Members of the Fiji Batt 42, led by Lieutenant Colonel Netani Kaukimoce and the Force Chaplaincy Cell led by Major Reverend Viliame Tunidau, officially took the Padre with his family to the Naval Headquarters in Stanley Brown Base in Walu Bay, Suva.

Receiving the delegation was the Commander Navy, Commodore Humphrey Tawake, Officers, men, and women of the Naval Division. The Itaukei welcoming protocols (‘𝘐 𝘚𝘦𝘷𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘷𝘶’) were carried out and followed with the ‘𝘐 𝘛𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘪’ which was received by Commodore Tawake: “𝘚𝘢 𝘷𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪 𝘷𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘶 𝘯𝘢 𝘪 𝘵𝘰𝘷𝘰 𝘯𝘪 𝘷𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪 𝘥𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘪 𝘷𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘢 𝘦𝘯𝘢 𝘪 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘯𝘪 𝘷𝘦𝘪𝘬𝘢𝘶 𝘷𝘦𝘪 𝘪𝘳𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘐 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘬𝘦𝘪 𝘯𝘢 𝘯𝘰𝘥𝘳𝘢 𝘷𝘶𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘬𝘢 𝘥𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘪 𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘪 𝘪𝘳𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘢 𝘦𝘯𝘢 𝘺𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘷𝘪 𝘯𝘪𝘬𝘶𝘢, 𝘬𝘦𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘢 𝘵𝘶 𝘷𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘶 𝘮𝘦 𝘬𝘦𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘢 𝘵𝘶 𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘐 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘬𝘢 𝘥𝘢𝘶 𝘵𝘰𝘬𝘰𝘯𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘵𝘶 𝘦𝘯𝘢 𝘷𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘢 𝘬𝘦𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘳𝘢.” We acknowledge your presence this afternoon as we welcome the new Chaplain and his family. We are ready to collaborate with the Padre on all Naval Chaplaincy duties.

Captain Reverend Savu Lakoenavuli will oversee the spiritual well-being of the naval officers, conducting church services and providing individual counseling as well as pre-marital counseling.
