The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Lead Capability Leaders, who have previously completed the full Lead Capability course, attended a two-day Veiliutaki Framework Lead Capability follow-on workshop held at the Uprising Beach Conference Venue in Pacific Harbour from July 28 to 29, 2025.
RFMF Lead Capability leaders (at the Commanding Officer and Regimental Sergeant Major level) are the critical link between strategy and action.
Across the two days, they explore what it means to add value at their level of leadership for the RFMF, building capacity and professional expertise, providing sound, honest advice upwards, and creating a positive unit climate.
The New Zealand Defence Adviser, Lieutenant Colonel Grant Scobie, opened the workshop by sharing insights from his experience as a Lead Capability Leader. He encouraged the leaders to use the workshop as a navigation check – examining both their direction and purpose in support of Commander RFMF’s vision for the RFMF.
The two days’ workshop was supported by personnel from the NZ Defence Force Institute of Leader Development.
