The Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Major General Ro Jone Logavatu Kalouniwai, together with the Force Sergeant Major, WOI Joeli Rabuli, and their spouses, attended the 2025 Chiefs of Defence Forces (CHODs) Meeting in Hua Hin, Thailand that concluded today.
Held under the theme โPeace Through Strength โ Ensuring Security and Prosperity in the Indo-Pacificโ, the gathering brought together senior military leaders from across the region to address shared challenges and strengthen defence cooperation.
Major General Kalouniwai contributed as a panelist in Topic 1: Sub-Regional Threat Perception, where he shared Fijiโs perspectives on evolving regional security challenges, including climate change impacts on small island states, maritime security, and the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation.
The CHODs meeting reaffirmed the value of open dialogue, information sharing, and collective action to maintain peace and stability across the Indo-Pacific. Fijiโs active participation highlights the RFMFโs enduring commitment to regional security, partnership, and the pursuit of prosperity through cooperation
