The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Veiliutaki Framework Lead Self Course commenced today, 24 February 2025, at the Centre for Training and Development in Nasese. The program was officiated by the Chief Staff Officer, Service Support, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Pio Varawa.
In his opening remarks, Lt Col Varawa stated that leadership is more than just a title given to you, a rank, or a legal authority, or in a vanua setting, itโs more than a chiefly title or a status; itโs mainly about inspiring people, influencing or motivating people, and directing people.
โThis five-day course will mostly be about strategic self-awareness and how to know yourself as an individual, your strengths, and your weaknesses, only then will you be able to manage your relationship with people you lead and manage,โ Lt Col Varawa said.
Lt Col Varawa concluded by urging the course participants to continue exploring and understanding themselves beyond the program. He emphasized that if an individual cannot lead, motivate, or inspire themselves, they will not be able to do so for others.
The Veiliutaki Framework Lead self course is funded by the New Zealand Defence Force and attended by more than twenty RFMF personnel and civilian members from the Ministry of Itaukei Affairs.
