Twenty-seven members of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) recently completed a two-week Field Medical Assistance Course (FMAC) at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua, organised by the Japanese Ministry of Defense (JMOD) with the help of 4 instructors, 3 Japanese and one RFMF instructor. The course took place in Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua.
The FMA course concluded with the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) seminar, led by the Director for Capacity Building, Ms. Tomoko Matsuzawa.
The course was officially closed by the Japanese Ambassador to Fiji, His Excellency Mr. Rokuichiro Michii, who was welcomed with a quarter guard at the 3FIR Drill Square.
The closing ceremony also featured a joint musical performance by the RFMF band and two members of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) band.
The event not only marked the successful completion of the FMA course but also highlighted the relationship between Fiji and Japan. This partnership has fostered greater cultural exchange and cooperation, paving the way for future collaborations.
