𝗥𝗙𝗠𝗙 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗷𝗶 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴𝘀

In a united front against the growing threat of illicit drugs in Fiji, the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to support the Fiji Police Force in their relentless fight against drug trafficking. This pledge was formalised during a high-level meeting at RFMF Headquarters between the Commander of the RFMF, Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, and Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu of the Fiji Police Force.

Recognising the urgent need to address the menace of drug-related crimes in our communities, the leaders engaged in strategic discussions to enhance enforcement efforts. A pivotal outcome of the meeting was the establishment of a collaborative joint operations capacity, with planned exercises targeting the identification, disruption, and dismantling of drug operations in high-risk areas nationwide.

Major General Kalouniwai emphasised the RFMF’s steadfast support for the Fiji Police Force in upholding national security and public safety, reiterating the military’s readiness to work hand-in hand with law enforcement agencies in combatting the drug crisis.

Commissioner Tudravu warmly welcomed the strengthened partnership with the RFMF, underscoring the significance of inter-agency collaboration in effectively combating the illicit drug trade that threatens our society.

The formation of a newly established joint task force signifies a concerted effort to launch targeted operations aimed at eradicating drug-infested areas across Fiji. Both leaders stand united in their resolve to safeguard the safety and well-being of all Fijians through this collaborative initiative, demonstrating a shared commitment to ensuring a safer and more secure future for our nation.
