The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Engineers Regiment has resumed its infrastructure development initiatives at Queen Elizabeth Barracks (QEB) early this year.
The First Construction Squadron began renovations on the ablution and laundry blocks within the Single Male Double-Story Barracks. The current focus is on re-roofing the ablution and laundry blocks, with the project expected to be completed by the end of March or early April this year.
Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Maika Toma, the Garrison Sergeant Major (GSM) of QEB, highlighted his responsibility in overseeing the facilityโs repairs and ensuring its operational readiness, noting that this project is one of his key priorities.
โThis project is part of the RFMFโs broader initiative to enhance military infrastructure and improve the living conditions for soldiers,โ WO1 Toma said.
The ongoing efforts by the RFMF underline a strong commitment to strengthening the institutionโs infrastructure and supporting the welfare of its service members.
